So, forgive me if I'm wrong, but can male avatars layer more items than the women? I entered a male avatar this time and hit the bonus, but when I sent the stuff to my daughter to use, she couldn't wear all the same things, so didn't get as high a bonus.

Just a guess, but you may have more available items for your avi than your daughter. You can increase the number of items that are wearable by buying the first couple for coins, then 1yc, then 2yc and I don't know how much after that because I stopped. I think I can have 25 items now...
