The streaming access is the only change, and it has performance limits.![]()
My guess is that the clamor for an answer is starting to resonate at BVG. Not saying anything is the same as not doing anything to most people. Too many players think the game will end when Flash support ends. BVG has failed to make a formal statement that this is not true. They need to answer this definitively -
WILL YO BE AROUND AFTER FLASH PLAYER SUNSETS?
Once they do, the chatter will end. The reason they haven't yet eludes me. If they don't know, that's just as bad as "no" for purposes of the game's continued existence. My guess is that we have a 95% chance the game will be fine. Flash Player is freeware. BVG can bake it into whatever platform they want and seal it off from the ravages of the web. The right answer is conversion to HTML5, but that is super expensive and most likely won't be happening. Fortunately this is not the ONLY answer.

Do you mean a Chromebook or the Chrome browser?
I use Chrome's Browser and I also use the app on the same machine all the time?

The only barriers are when I want to gift someone from the forum using their apartment link. I can’t find a way for that with the desktop app. Which leads to my concern over what will happen with the forum someday with game links...will those have to be phased out or removed too?

I'm not entirely sure that would work Theresa, but you could try it.
I know with Facebook Gameroom, different people can log into it

No, my daughter and I just log out of one and in to the other but it's a pain because for some reason it often freezes and won't go to the new log in screen so I have to close it out and open it back up. Some kind of bug.
Kat (106520804) wrote:Unfortunately the problem is that because BVG only allows the desktop app to be used on a 64 bit laptop or desktop and not on a 32 bit and not on tablets, it's really extremely limiting. I'm not sure what I'll do next week when I'm at my daughter's for about 10 days taking care of the grand critters and household. My laptop is only 32 bit and it doesn't work on my tablet. So this isn't really a good option. Even with the 3rd option, as Rod said if it has performance issues few will likely use that option. When puffin stops working on ipads and iphones there will likely be a lot that quit. None of the other browsers that supposedly work with flash work well at all. I've tried them all several times. I have a hard time getting the pop up to come up to allow flash and yes I have the pop up blocker off so that isn't the issue. The problem is the crud on the right hand side of the facebook window is in the way and I have NOT figured out a way to get rid of any of it so it doesn't block that pop up. The one I could get to work at all, you really can't do anything but log in and do a few things, I haven't been able to figure out how to use them to decorate. For many it's the only way to play the game, it's all they have. For me, I have health issues and so I can't sit at my desktop very long and I play most of the time using puffin on my ipad. Puffin is going away for ipads in October. Since none of the other browsers are worth a flip that means that I'll have very limited options. I can see it just getting to a point if BVG doesn't do something pretty quickly that there will be a lot leaving the game because they are out of options. I'm not going out and buying another device just to get an android tablet so that puffin will still work on it. So I hope that you figure something out asap. Once puffin goes away I'll be down to only being able to use my desktop computer to play the game. It just won't be worth it. Fix it so that the app will work on tablets and 32 bit machines and it will get you through a bit longer.
