When I was a teen and 20-something yes I loved it. But honestly, I've found it gives me a small amount anxiety lately. Spending money on stuff isn't always the most fun thing in the world. As a rule I'd rather know it's in my bank account in case I need it.

Funny, because I do like having nice clothing and especially nice things in my home. It's wonderful once it's budgeted and done, just stressful to plan and buy stuff. Now I do get excited to plan trips and eat at new places anymore. Much more into experiences than things the last 7 years or so.

I do however love shopping in Yo. That sort of retail therapy is awesome.

My retail therapy was like Viv’s... a joy short-lived because the high ended and I was left with the bill. I’m much happier about it since I switched to Yo/shopping, where I get 100x the amount for my money. :)

I think my shopping addiction helped a lot when I started playing Yo again. For me, shopping was mainly about the exciting rush I got when I bought something. I found that I got that same feeling when I bought something in Yo. So buying virtual stuff sort of helped kick my obsession with buying real stuff.

I never had a shopping addiction for the most part, surprisingly (I have other addiction issues). I bought a fair amount of clothes and one designer purse in my 20s or around 30. The bag was just something basic I was looking for that I couldn't find, and I'd worked my ass off and got a nice tax return that year, so I went for it. I wouldn't say it made me happy, but I liked it.

Shopping and material stuff doesn't fill my void. The only shopping addiction I had for several years was knitting and jewelry supplies. Crafting therapy was the best. I hope to someday get back into it. But yarn, gemstone beads, silver wire, silver all the little bits (clasps, rings, etc.) added up to a LOT of dough at the rate I was cranking things out and I had to give it a rest because of other stuff. I also didn't use junky materials because most of the stuff was for myself or for gifts. I learned the hard way trying to sell my creations wasn't worth it because people don't appreciate the cost of the supplies and the intensive labor, and wanted stuff ridiculously cheap. I'm hoping someday I can return to just the hobby part of it.

I think it is literally why I play these sort of games, aside from the creative aspect.

When I shop, I know exactly what I'm there for and I pick it up and leave. I find "browsing to shop" tedious and taxing. BUT...........I am a huge people watcher. And when there are people around for me to watch interact, I'll "shop" all day with the missus.

Did you know that people's faces tell the story about what they think as they shop? My favorite is when they find something they want (happy face), and then figure out they don't have their size (irritated face). LOL
