♥IMPORTANT Message About FEMALE Heart Attack Symptoms!♥

I wanted to come back and add, Heart Disease is called the silent killer for a reason, sometimes theres NO symptoms, so if you're over 40, please make sure you get regular check ups!

I had a heart attack June 6th.

First - I'd like to tell you the symptoms I was having when I had the heart attack. If you're picturing me clutching my chest, left arm numb, falling to floor, yelling for Elizabeth lolol No, that's a hollywood heart attack.

My neck hurt. My chest hurt a little, had a little bit of pressure, left hand fingers tingled a little, but my neck HURT. It was unbearable.

You know when you don't wanna cry and you get that lump in your throat? It was like that, but lower and all through, like, it went halfway around my neck at the base in front, and it fkin HURT.

I'd had that pain before, but not that bad, and not accompanied by anything else, and if I just calmed down and breathed it would go away. I thought it was just stress or a panic attack. NO!!! It was my body trying to tell me my heart was clogging up, and it's a TYPICAL SYMPTOM of a FEMALE heart attack!

If you have that kinda pain now and then, MAKE A DRS APPT NOW!!

So what I learned, your heart has 3 main arteries, which feed 5 more arteries, which feed a bunch of other arteries, any of these can get clogged, and when you have heart disease, the arteries in your neck can also clog up, I didn't know that!!

Of the 3 major arteries, one of mine was 100% blocked and the other two, 50%. They couldn't stent them all during a heart attack, they stented the 100%, or there coulda been occlusion and I coulda kicked it then. So we waited until I was healed and they went back in August 6th and stented the other 2.

I've never had high blood pressure, never had heart issues that I knew of, what I did have was a widowmaker, a time bomb, and I had NO idea.

I smoked like a fish since I was 13, 40 years now, Docs put me on the patch and I quit. When you smoke,it contracts your arteries, and if your arteries are already clogged, and mostly clogged and you keep smoking, go ahead and plan your funeral, kiss your loved ones bye, because you're gonna DIE, facts.

Sorry about that, was kinda morbid but, truth.

If there are other females here who have had heart attacks, it would be nice to hear your symptoms as well, as ours are so different from the male heart attacks.

Everyone should get themselves checked, even you feel great, please have regular check ups, and if you have that neck thing, PLEASE get checked! But just, ya know BE MINDFUL especially if this runs in your family like it does in mine, and TAKE CARE of yourselves.!!

I'm so glad you're okay, that must have been so scary! Thanks for sharing your important story. I'm 63 and quit smoking about 12 yrs ago, eat low/no carbs and get lots of exercise. I never felt better then I do now. I hope you have many healthy years ahead of you!

Thank you for sharing, Pepsi! I'm 22 and I don't think I've done a full complete health checkup yet in my entire lifetime. I really should have one done. I feel like I'm at that age now and to be honest you can never be too young for a health checkup.

Hey..i really feel terrible to know about what happened with u but i'm glad you are healthier now! I'm just 20 right now and i don't smoke or drink so it's great to hear i'm on the right track! Though i am not that healthy coz im underweight etc and had been admitted in icu last year coz of e.coli infection which made me have fits! But i'm glad all that weakness has gone now and i'm stronger and i wish and hope, u feel the same way too after that..idk if it makes sense but going through bad times makes you stronger so i just wish the same for you

I do have those feels like a long knife plunge into my neck and left there. Also the long knife plunge into my skull and the sensation of warm liquid spreading inside my head. Fuzziness, brain fog, zoning out, numbness, tingling, occasionally whole length of right arm numb, occasional hand shaking, pins and needles in the feet/fingers. One day I fell down while putting on clothes. I didn't get stuck while putting them on, just fell over. Went for checkup. Not heart related. Turns out is bp and some tumor somewhere not in head though and successfully removed later. Later checkup reveal been having mini strokes while asleep. Didn't know I was having them cause wake up feeling fine but noticed my memory and language ability was getting worst. I called noodles the long stringy white things. I just mash words if I can't remember what they are called. Grammar, punctuation, well those went out the window too.

Just to add that the high bp and tumor caused a lot of damage to my vessels, some permanent. Consequently affecting blood flow to everywhere resulting in pain/damage in neck, head, kidney etc. Thanks OP for bringing up the neck pain heart attack. I would recommend everybody have a full body checkup (including brain) especially when hit 40. Had the neck pain since I was a teenager but docs used to put it down to growing pains. They refused to monitor bp thinking I was too young then to have high bp.

Oh wow, Toink Toink and Pepsi!!!!! thank you for sharing and the warnings about female heart issues!!!!! I had no idea both of you had gone thru this!!!!! My Dr wants me on Cholesterol meds but they make me sick!!! statins do too... found my mom having a stroke.... its frightening to think about it.....I dont smoke or drink but I am overweight due to being disabled and in pain.....
I hope both of your health issues continue to improve...
