Miss Sweet, you have my heartfelt condolences. Missing the ones we love but have lost is honorable. I have no doubt your memories of your mother are treasures in your heart. She lives on within those memories.

My wife and her grandmother were incredibly close. They spent days and hours together throughout their lives. When "Gran" passed away, my wife was devastated and there was no comfort I could give her. During her grieving, I had a lot of free time in my study. I took all the stories the 2 of them had shared with me that I could remember and wrote them out. I made a little journal of their time. When I gave it to my wife she spent days reading it and laughing and crying at the same time. We added some more stories that I didn't know. Now she has this mini biography that I catch her reading when she misses her Gran. It is very cathartic.

Don't lose those memories of your mom. They are treasures.

Thank you so much I appreciate you writing those kind words. Yes I have her in my heart and all those wonderful memories from happy, to sad and many funny ones as well. She was a very sick women for many years and I had the honor of taking care of her. So an empty void of not taking care can make the healing longer.

You are an amazing person to do should a lovely thing for your wife, I admire you for the love you have for her... :star:

I feel you hun, my mom died when I was 16 and still feels like it was yesterday.

But I look forward to that day when, according to God's promises, I will see her again completely free of imperfections and any pain

Re: What Makes You Cry?

Postby TexanSouthern (103681266) » Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:58 pm

I was born and raised on "crying is a weakness", growin' up taught me never to let anyone see me cry I however do cry in front of one person because I can't hide anythin from my best friend that man knows me too well :dizzy:
Now to answer the question: "What makes you cry?"
I can't talk about anythin' I've been through in life without cryin'.
I also had my best grandparents pass away (I disowned my bio dad's mother for a good reason and I refuse to refer to that women as "grandma"). I miss my grandparents dearly but grandpa's death gets me the most and makes me cry every time I think of Christmas because he passed on Dec 23rd and was buried right after Christmas on Dec 26th reason I hate Christmas time with a passion and that is the reason why my Christmas spirit died :heartbroken:
When animals die I cry, I rarely cry when a human dies :quiet: If I read someone's pet passed on I cry, if a pet dies in a movie I cry, if I read about pets who died in a shelter I cry. Even thinkin about all the animals that have died in shelters makes me cry :heartbroken: Thinkin about all the innocent breed specific dogs who have lost their lives over the simple fact of how they look makes me cry. I also cry at the thought that if I haven't taken my most stubborn dog in that he would be dead because no one would have worked through his major aggression issues he had
My first dog I ever had I lost to cancer by time they could do somethin it was too late and he was too old  I can't even talk about him without cryin. He was my best friend for years, and he was with me through pretty rough times in my life. We got him shortly after my grandma died, and he was with me when my grandpa passed :'(

Losing people around special days sucks. Hug you Elfers.

I have a buddy who had a 6 month old daughter that died on his birthday. It has been at least a decade since that tragedy and he has never celebrated another birthday. It is still a black hole for him.
