I just need to vent...

Postby DollyDagger (135498958) » Fri Aug 09, 2019 7:31 pm

Earlier today I received a call from EMSA...They told me my son had been side swiped by a vehicle while riding his bike. They wanted to take him in to get checked out but my son insisted he was fine. He picked up his broken bike and carried it to football practice. I am livid that someone could mow over my 13 year old child and not look back. My son is a pretty big guy at 6'4" and 220lbs...but he is only 13 and that's MY baby!

That must have been very scary for you. And it could have ended much worse, so I'm glad he was ok. Definitely the correct thing to do for that driver is call for help and wait for it to arrive. Not sure why that didn't happen...

Oh my, INSOMNIA! I'm glad you were able to find the *****ard who mowed you over. I'm thankful you have recovered from such a tramatic experience! They put him on the phone with me and he insisted he was fine and still wanted to go to practice. They should be proud to have him on their team with that sort of dedication!! I didn't have a way to get to him because my husband had our vehicle at work. He's meeting him up at the school as soon as he gets off. He's taking him to the ER to get checked out, then to the police station because I'm unsure whether or not a report had been filed. My son told me the police came while the ambulance was there, so idk.

I'm so glad your son's okay. I almost lost my son a few years ago, I would never wish that on anyone.

Was he hit and the driver took off? If that was the case you and your son should make a police report out to look for that loser. I'm so sorry this happened, it could have been a worse outcome.....

We found the vehicle that ran him over... There was green paint all over the passenger side bumper where she hit the bike. His football coach bought him a new bike, a HARO BMX. His old one was a bike my son put together made from DYNO... They don't make Dynos any more. My son is grateful for the new bike and that he wasn't injured. He's just shook up by the whole incident and is upset about his Dyno

We gave the license plate number to the police and they said they will be getting the address associated with the plate and get the person to admit their fault and issue a ticket
for hit and run...idk where to go from here.... Any advice?

The driver should reimburse the cost of the bike at the very least! I'm glad your son's okay.

Omg, I’m so glad he’s okay!! He should go see a doc though, just incase. PTSD can be pretty bad if you don’t get it checked before hand.

Happy you got all the info on her and yes she should pay for any injury's and his bike. And I'm sure he is shock up, I would be to! You should call the police dept and request her car insurance company to make them aware of her actions on a hit and run of your son, or even ask them what you should do. Just happy he is okay.
