Home for Thanksgiving Real life home reflections

Postby Beatrice (178761483) » Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:41 pm

I was thinking last night that I would love to do my real life home in YOworld ....

With the realization that fanasty is always a bit more fun then reality, typically but not always.

I wondered if anyone took on this theme and made rooms that reflect their homes, or a home they hold dear from their childhood.

Did I, LOL, oh heck no -- in part because I cant quite find the right home without having to build it myself -- but there are lot of things I own or are in store I could

but....before I fall into this rabbit hole.

Please share -

rooms, Ideas, Concepts, tools items ideas -- yes, ideas (Yes, like all threads I start this is die a lonely painful but short lingering death -- but it was worth a try and I'm sincere )

LOL Beatrice, its something that i have thought of once or twice to try to do. Rather than take a home tho, I thought maybe just a room or kitchen, with whatever I can find as far as furniture that matches mine. And the placements I would try to match. I WOULD keep the messes out of my room I created tho!! :haha: :phew:
BOL it sounds fun!! :rose:

I have thought of creating my Grandmother's home but like you said, i'd have to build it from scratch and got lazy

I really wonder why this thread was moved to general discussions, it's about yoworld... not general.
Looks like they read your title only and not your post.

Not sure why they moved your thread considering it was about your yo homes. I prefer to make fantasy rooms, but I did my gma's backyard one of the GE. Looked almost identical. It did not score well though 4.3 and it was even on theme LOL! So, while I enjoy looking at all types of rooms, for GE I have stuck with the fantasy haha!

I have done this!! This was one of my favorite little cosy homes. I wanted to capture the rooms different views which meant i had to buy a lot of the same furniture over and over, but I think I achieved the overall look. Bear in mind, the game doesn't have the same furniture and rugs, and I couldn't build the walls and everything exactly, but it's very close to one of my homes. I even have the same exact MONKEY LAMP (on table between green chairs) in real life!

i wish they'd move this thread back, even though there are new responses it just keeps sinking on the yoworld discussions page because of it being "moved"

i'd like to see a picture of the room, do you have one to share?

We don't do Thanksgiving here - but I like looking at the rooms!

I really don't understand why the thread was removed.

I haven't yet, but have planned to for a while. Maybe this will kick-start me. :)

How is this thread NOT part of Discussions? :phew: :dizzy:

When making sure you are on the same page with someone, also make sure they are reading the same book and that they know how to read.

Some people are not here to evolve. Instead they serve as reminders about what it looks like if we don't.

not going to do all, but the front and main room - hint at a kitchen ... and debating - we have hobby rooms LOL might be more fun then a bed room

thank you but those beautiful rooms are Darla's

i was just quoting her.

if i did do my grandmother's home it'd just be a general idea of how it looked, the layout made no sense to me as a child, the shapes of the rooms were peculiar. It had a weird small staircase that I think if i'd been full grown i'd have to duck down to go up them, there was stuff crammed into every area, she was a hoarder who made it look ok for the most part, like bolts of fabric, persian rugs, and china, and little areas behind grand pianos, lots of musical instrument/ parts, if you were small enough you could crawl between rooms via little pathways that maybe were for passing things through them. house was built around 1910. a scary but also wondrous place for children. of course the place seemed haunted. her yard was full of fruit trees and she had a larger species of ant that i've never seen anywhere else (not the small normal ant, and not the giant ant either, in between), probably because my grandfather worked for the railroad, and half the things growing in her yard seemed exotic (guavas, mulberries, interesting flowers), i think he brought her things from around the world. do we have any ants in yw other than the big ones in the playhouse theme? the grandparent theme last fall had me thinking how cool it'd be to even attempt to build it in yoworld.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe they only read the title and thought it was only memories?
