Side street room I'm working on. Taking a break for the moment as my animated witch has disappeared and I cannot find it in my inventory to put it back in room. Stuck between room and inventory maybe (can't see it if it is)?

Sent in ticket, though... so I'll wait to see if they can locate it. :sleepy: :'(

The Fog

Original release: YW 2016/2017, rerelease - updated with new shadow - October/2018

Storyline:

As the Bicentennial of the small town of Antonio Bay, CA approaches, paranormal activity begins to occur at midnight.

200 years ago, a wealthy leper, Blake, purchased the clipper ship, 'Elizabeth Dane', along with a spate of land from the towns' founding fathers and set sail to establish a safe leper colony. However, while sailing through a thick fog, the Elizabeth Dane was deliberately misguided - by a campfire onshore - steering the course of the ship toward the light where it crashed against the rocks and sank.

Now, while the town's residents prepare to celebrate, the victims of their ancestor's heinous crime have risen from the sea under the cover of a nearly impenetrable fog to seek retribution for the original founding fathers' vicious betrayal.

The Lady in Red/2016

All Hallows' Eve Ball/The Hotel Vancouver
31 October/1939

It is said that ghosts haunt - not necessarily - where they met their demise, but rather, too, places where they once experienced much happiness or even... fear.

So sit back and join us, won't you (?), while the tale of "The Lady in Red" unfolds - yet again - as she roams the hotel grounds on... 'All Hallows' Eve':

Halloween burnout. :sleepy:

Lucky me, though. I happened upon a complimentary ticket to a tiny, but lovely little village in Spain, Valverde de los Arroyos.

It is situated in Castilla La Mancha - on the green slopes of the Guadalajara province - surrounded by a natural, unspoiled beauty which can be explored on foot or by bike – and the picturesque town center harbors a charming square where it’s not unusual to see the children playing old-fashioned games... almost as if frozen in time.

Sharing my favorite Halloween house, I named it Village of the Dead. The asylum and the twisted sisters house are linked by teleports. Every year a I tweek it a bit and add from current themes. If you ask me, this village is very versatile and fun to put together. Thanks for looking. Here is the link if you wish to visit:

Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson is the complete compilation of the first three volumes of verse published posthumously in 1890, 1891, and 1896.*

Part II: Nature/XCII

To my quick ear the leaves conferred;
The bushes they were bells;
I could not find a privacy
From Nature's sentinels.

In cave if I presumed to hide,
The walls began to tell;
Creation seemed a mighty crack
To make me visible.

~ Emily Dickinson

Fall/2017, updated:

From the "Thought Catalog"... 1 of 6 "autumn-themed" paragraph stories*

"You’re sitting in your apartment, on your freshly cleaned sheets, with pumpkin candles burning, and an old book that’s new to you in your hands. It’s just warm enough that you can leave the window open, and as you read, a breeze of crisp air flows through, and pushes the pages forward. You’re wearing warm socks and a big sweater, and you’re waiting for something to be done in the oven, something you’ve made for someone to come share with you — that someone with whom you’d like to analogize your relationship to blooming like spring, but you know it’s more accurately that you’re settling into each other’s warmth and you embrace this change, just like you do autumn."

~ *Chelsea Fagan/Brianna Wiest, 2018

"To an open house in the evening
Home shall men come,
To an older place than Eden
And a taller town than Rome.
To the end of the way of the wandering star,
To the things that cannot be and that are,
To the place where God was homeless
And all men are at home."

~ C.K. Chesterton

During the last Christmas of the war – and the last Christmas of Lincoln's life – we do know something about how he kept the holiday.

On December 25, 1864 the Lincolns hosted a Christmas reception for the cabinet, recorded the White House Historical Society. However, they also had some unexpected guests for that evening’s Christmas dinner. Tad Lincoln, the president’s rambunctious young son who had already helped inspire the tradition of a 'Presidential turkey pardon', invited several newsboys – child newspaper sellers who worked outdoors in the chilly Washington winter – to the Christmas dinner. “Although the unexpected guests were a surprise to the White House cook, the president welcomed them for dinner,” wrote the historical association. The meal must have been a memorable one... for the newsboys at least.

"Although it separated many from their families, permanently or temporarily, the Civil War also helped to shape Americans’ experience of Christmas, which wasn’t a big holiday before the 1850s. “Like many other such ‘inventions of tradition,’ the creation of an American Christmas was a response to social and personal needs that arose at a particular point in history, in this case a time of sectional conflict and civil war.”

~ Penne Restad, 'History Today'
