HOW TO OBTAIN "FRIEND TO THE END BADGE"?

I am working on obtaining most of my badges, but I can't see to figure out how the "Visit Friends" badge works. I visit an offline friend and collect the giftbox however, my badge count does not go up. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is much appreciated, thank you.
