:smug:

You have no proof of what you're saying :haha: :haha: where do you get your information?

You are correct. But I know that Zynga did the same thing thinking they were doing the right thing for traders. And it ran Yo into the dirt as more and more decorators grew frustrated. It's just my opinion. BVG has the numbers. It will tell them all they need to know. I could be wrong, but I'm willing to risk that.

:)

This is more speculation..I thought the hackers ran zynga into the ground which is it? and Zynga ran a great game for years and trading in my opinion was the backbone of the game. It might not be now because so many gave up on it and if Bvg knew how to work the game right it could be great again but what gets me is that you're leaving the traders out completely by telling them never to retire a theme again. Why can't you care about everyone's way of playing? hell, if decorating is the backbone of this game..why even bother having a trading section? :dizzy: I'm not going to argue with you because I'm to the point of I don't care anymore but it just gets under my skin when people think about only their way of playing :dizzy:

I'm done

The end of Yo was many things. The hacking, the rapid theme releases, the increasing cost to decorate, lack of quality, unimaginative designs, poor customer service, coin selling, bad planning, disorganization, glitches, etc etc etc.

I'm sympathetic to all ways of playing because I use them all. So when I pop off an opinion, it's because in my judgement that's what I perceive. It doesn't make me right. It doesn't make anyone wrong.

:)

Rght! These themes lack creativity, content, and imagination
Fun theme, Circus theme, Enchanted theme, Halloween themes, V-day themes, themes from around the world, on on and clothing. Zynga did it right. So unique. The start when the Vikings too over, and we complained hah until 2016 was better like space items at Christmas. We never have had enough content. It's still has never been as good as Zynga. By 2019 lack of fun, communication, extra fun events, the way they make things look and the color palet is just horrible. Thank god for the DC contests, oh another way to cash in on other ppl for free. They rush, they don't care, not many coin items now, idk I am like over it and will play with my old stuff.
CA2015 we didn't have like any NPCS really but the hair coloring, coin chairs, and it did have more content until now. How hard is it to make things look better. Oh, because we buy it anyway. Nope. I wont.
Put core items like crystal balls in a theme revolving around it in a yocash deal and they could have made those cuter. Booooooooooooooooooooooo on you Vikings. We have no power as they own an item we are addicted to. Cute the way they exploit us. Nothing is rare anymore. Nothing!!!! One retired theme ppl are hoarding I think we will all be ok.

Agree. It's mostly only a big headache. Vaulting is better IMO. Expiring stuff has fed greed in some and misery in others, at least from what I've witnessed. At least vaulting is a neutral ground for players torn in the middle. None of it bothers me though because I won't fuss on this game about what I can't control, I'd quit by now if that was the case. At the end of the day this game won't affect how I adapt to it until even if/when they say they are closing it all down.

might be because it had 'sale ends' on it instead of 'expiring'. the homes had expiring on them and went on time

vaulting keeps hope alive, the hope the theme can always come back., everyone alive needs some hope in their life.

Definitely agree with holidays should be removed, once its over.

I actually hate this being done too early, but I do wish there could be a middle ground where the designer holiday stuff vaults as soon as it's over and then the BVG-created stuff did vault a year or so later. That would keep the designer stuff well valued and still help players properly decorate their holiday-themed home at any time of the year. I know a lot of us sometimes get excited for certain holidays such as Halloween and Christmas, so we do start early. If the themes aren't there to choose from, it makes it harder. Also, it makes it harder on newer players to decorate.

  i would be totally happy at a compromise and say ditch the vault and retire themes but not too often. when they vaulted the old halloween they done 3 huge themes at once and it was too much.. same when they done the Christmas ones. totally retire the salon stuff and clothing... and the big YC items in the theme for example.... interactives, thrones, fountains, alcoves, statues etc. and then keep all the basic, staple decorating items in the store. i think that would be pretty much win win for everyone

So I was only joking around. I don't care if they vault everything they've been doing this for a long time so it doesn't bother me anymore but just wanted to say.

Yes. The expiration of the contract (if that is the reason for retiring it) just means that BVG can no longer sell that product. But we are still free to use what we have and trade.

Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Although maybe it doesn't count as BVG selling the items, and so players/fans having items, and even selling amongst ourselves, are kinda like souvenirs (it does help promote the movie in a way). Like if they pulled the movie so it couldn't be shown in theaters or online, they wouldn't take people's DVDs/blurays of the movie.

I am sure they made an agreement to keep what is sold in game. Why wouldn't they. What would the point be if they would take it.

I don't think it's greed. I invest my money so things have value later. I wouldn't buy as much if not. They vault a lot of themes. It's fine but once in a while it's nice to make the investors happy.

I'm sure they didn't want to renew a contract for an old theme and will find a new one to invest in if it pulled sales. IDK why they didn't just make a generic version of the theme as usual. Look at the Adventure Time items for example.

Ev1 can have an opinion, it's just mine.
There will be plenty of this stuff to buy from sellers, I did not buy much but it was prob some experiment to see if licencing is worth it.

This is a fun wrestling match.

We don't know how the license to sell the items was structured. Most of them are structured to provide the creator an up front fee to use the material and a royalty for everything sold. So the DD people got paid.

Now what gets fun is not just for DD, but for every item in Yo. We don't own anything per the terms of service. We own a "lease" to use the pixels as we choose. BVG can cancel the lease at any time at their sole discretion. It is what cuts the legs out from anyone trying to sue them if they get their account banned..........or BVG just decides something needs to come out of the game for ANY reason. Obviously BVG wouldn't want to upset us, but they reserve the right to empty our accounts if they choose.

My money is on the players getting to keep what they leased. The nuclear damage it would cause to customer good faith would be devastating for BVG.

I misspoke or mistyped or something. I meant they probably don't have permission to keep any of it in stores. I wrote a long explanation somewhere, but basically, the contract probably included the timeframe BVG could sell (with commission, I'm sure), AND the timeframe it could stay in-game, which may be forever, or it could be removed if BVG sells the game...many possibilities depending on the exact deal they negotiated, what BVG wanted to spend, etc. For example, if we start seeing Lion's Gate Films in the ads, that could have been part of the deal. Or maybe they negotiated that into another BVG game because studies tell them that just giving us the theme, subconsciously gives us warm fuzzies, and ads will better serve them elsewhere.

My initial explanation also explained how people selling copyright items for cash MIGHT be enough to kill the game, but again, totally dependent on whatever deal they hammered out.

None of this happens overnight or in one meeting. They had dozens of meetings and 5-6 contract rewrites before they even started creating files. All of which is why we probably don't see too many licensed themes.

Honestly, I don't even stock up anymore. Even with the dirty dancing I only bought a few clothing items and not one furniture item, my days of stocking up are over :haha: :haha: heck without a guide I can't even sell what I have in my inventory. So they can vault everything and it won't affect me one bit and same with retiring themes. Sure I got a little excited when they retired this one but I'm still wondering why? :haha: :haha: I guess because it brought back memories. I now count on Me's to make some extra coinage :silly:
