Looks like there was a bit of a system error that led to the discount being removed but not the items. This has been fixed and the items are no longer in store.

Thank you Viking Andrew, now can we please do this more often. I want to see more theme retire permanently.

Thx Andrew. I'd like there to be no more retiring themes ever. They only hurt decorators and profit jackers. :)

Look at your sales data. Your decorators are the backbone of Yo. Don't abuse them. When it happens, the entire game suffers.

I had thought there were a couple more days. I had been planning to stock up after the Mediterranean theme ended. It came as a blow to discover it was gone and I missed that chance, but then I decided to not care. :haha:

There were a few items that should have moved to YoDepot, but I won't let it impact my decorating. I do hope, however, that no more themes are retired any time soon. A decorator can take only so much, doncha know?

You are correct. But I know that Zynga did the same thing thinking they were doing the right thing for traders. And it ran Yo into the dirt as more and more decorators grew frustrated. It's just my opinion. BVG has the numbers. It will tell them all they need to know. I could be wrong, but I'm willing to risk that.

I don't know if any of us are privy to that information. I'd imagine it's considered confidential on BVG's part. But, as someone who does stock up for decorating I can tell you I spend generally over a million in coin(sometimes 2) and then even more in cash stocking up for a theme to leave the game.

Whether or not it's the main backbone of how BVG makes their money or not, it is certainly one of the main ways. Otherwise, what reason would they have to vault items? The items don't technically disappear from the game when they're vaulted, they still exist. So, that alone reflects that it benefits BVG in some way to vault themes. They aren't clearing their item storage when it happens. They're making money off of the process.

This is more speculation..I thought the hackers ran zynga into the ground which is it? and Zynga ran a great game for years and trading in my opinion was the backbone of the game. It might not be now because so many gave up on it and if Bvg knew how to work the game right it could be great again but what gets me is that you're leaving the traders out completely by telling them never to retire a theme again. Why can't you care about everyone's way of playing? hell, if decorating is the backbone of this game..why even bother having a trading section? :dizzy: I'm not going to argue with you because I'm to the point of I don't care anymore but it just gets under my skin when people think about only their way of playing :dizzy:

I actually hate this being done too early, but I do wish there could be a middle ground where the designer holiday stuff vaults as soon as it's over and then the BVG-created stuff did vault a year or so later. That would keep the designer stuff well valued and still help players properly decorate their holiday-themed home at any time of the year. I know a lot of us sometimes get excited for certain holidays such as Halloween and Christmas, so we do start early. If the themes aren't there to choose from, it makes it harder. Also, it makes it harder on newer players to decorate.

The fact the Columbus theme has not been vaulted or retired is very telling, IMO. Not many would pay to stock up on that theme, nor buy the items in the AH once it's gone. So, there it sits. *sneezes at the dust*

I wouldn't mind holiday themes being vaulted or possibly retired, although the staple items should go to YoDepot. Clothing and hair could be retired or vaulted. It's not like decor where you need multiples of the same thing.

The end of Yo was many things. The hacking, the rapid theme releases, the increasing cost to decorate, lack of quality, unimaginative designs, poor customer service, coin selling, bad planning, disorganization, glitches, etc etc etc.

I'm sympathetic to all ways of playing because I use them all. So when I pop off an opinion, it's because in my judgement that's what I perceive. It doesn't make me right. It doesn't make anyone wrong.

1. I am sure they can't keep this theme without paying whoever has the rights to the theme.

2. We all help keep the game open. I doubt decor sells more than clothing, I have no idea.

3. They love to vault. Holidays roll around and they create little content and get to make a ton putting pressure for us to hurry up and buy the items.

4. IDK ppl are busy or not. Put your other game play on hold, most of it's not going anywhere or find what you missed in the AH it's usu not that much. People have to be home or free at some point they gave us a long time to stock up. If not why are you playing at all.

5. I want them all to retire and they used to. So this should not be a big deal everything comes back. They like to vault so idk why they wouldn't if they could. Could be to see sales numbers but the ending combined with a theme coming back has to be higher profits with less overhead paying ppl to create it. Again we had a possessed bible at Halloween. Money business is money, they don't care about us. Clearly.

6. I miss themes, I trade, I do decor, and I do fastion. True decor is last on the list. You can't have everything, Money or working for it is the option at times. I like to hunt things down at times. They still make money in the depot and most is not retired. One time everyone just needs to stock up. So many ppl are you will find whatever item you need.

We all did talk about this several times. Just pointing it out again if ppl missed the other sides logic. I like to resell. This stuff won't be worth that much anyway. Try as we might we can't change this. If it's a license thing they could say so.

Rght! These themes lack creativity, content, and imagination
Fun theme, Circus theme, Enchanted theme, Halloween themes, V-day themes, themes from around the world, on on and clothing. Zynga did it right. So unique. The start when the Vikings too over, and we complained hah until 2016 was better like space items at Christmas. We never have had enough content. It's still has never been as good as Zynga. By 2019 lack of fun, communication, extra fun events, the way they make things look and the color palet is just horrible. Thank god for the DC contests, oh another way to cash in on other ppl for free. They rush, they don't care, not many coin items now, idk I am like over it and will play with my old stuff.
CA2015 we didn't have like any NPCS really but the hair coloring, coin chairs, and it did have more content until now. How hard is it to make things look better. Oh, because we buy it anyway. Nope. I wont.
Put core items like crystal balls in a theme revolving around it in a yocash deal and they could have made those cuter. Booooooooooooooooooooooo on you Vikings. We have no power as they own an item we are addicted to. Cute the way they exploit us. Nothing is rare anymore. Nothing!!!! One retired theme ppl are hoarding I think we will all be ok.
