[UPDATE] GREY SCREEN UPDATE! (April 1st, 2021)

Hey YoFans,

Our Fix-It Vikings have been treating this as a top priority issue, and we believe we've found what may be causing this. An issue has been discovered with the YoWorld desktop application that may be causing many YoFans to get frequent grey screens. We are still looking into a resolution for this, but knowing the cause is the first step in getting this fixed for everyone!

For now, we would advise that if you are experiencing a grey screen issue in the YoWorld Desktop App that you switch to playing in a web browser like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. This will hopefully result in a much better experience.

It is important to note that this WILL NOT fix grey screening for everyone. But we are very hopeful that it will help most YoFans having the problem.

I will keep you updated on this issue, and when we have a fix for the desktop app, I'll be sure to let everyone know!

I was trying to do my outfit for the new GE & I got the grey screen of death :(

Thanks but I have switched, and still getting the grey screen, but I'll live with it until you can fix it.

Hey! That's precisely what I have found as well. :D Firefox works decently. It's still painfully slow when saving decorated rooms with a lot of items in them, though. :sleeping:

Yes true, using browser makes the grey screen appears lesser than app ..... But my buddy list keep on switching OFF automatically :(

Thank you so much Viking Andrew for the Up Dated Information. Currently I am using the Browser Microsoft Edge, and I am Not experienceing the Gray Screen anymore like I was while using the "Desk Top App" to play the game. I will gladly wait with the hope that you guys can figure out the issue for the "Desk Top App" I know you are busy People, with trying to make sure all your players of the game are satisfied. I don't know if anyone else reported this but when in the App, under Settings, Options, for some reason the "Allow automatic updates" check box keeps clearing itself. I have it checked but when I log off the app and then back again, the check box is unchecked again. Also sometimes, after I have checked the box and try to to X out of it and it will not let me until I UNcheck the "Allow automatic updates". Hope I explained that clearly. What is going on with that? Finally, you say we can just play through our browsers, but the browser does not allow you to get the special gifts.

Thank you Viking Andrew for the update. I am using Chrome but i still get a grey screen. Still hoping that it will soon be fixed.

It might help with gray screen to use a browser, but can't see ads then. Have to use app for that. Thanks!

I wish more then anything I could help with all these issues! I did get on and able to finally click to do new gem stuff but still it resulted in grey screen before was able to complete and this is going through Edge :heartbroken:

We have a potential fix in the works that will hopefully fix the majority of grey screen issues people are having in browsers. Sam and I will have an update on that one soon (hopefully). It's just in testing right now.

just a FYI. i am using google chrome. thank you for all working so hard... but Chrome still gave me a greyscreen while trying to dress in challenge this day

editing, on Friday 4/2 i just got grey screened when i clicked on Voting....... for the gem challenge

Hello hard working Vikings,

For me it has always been Chrome (without any problems whatsoever at all), and I can´t even get in since the transfer to HTML5. Is this the same as grey screen? Mine seems rather white. :haha:
Nothing happens, at all. No loading, no initializing, etc. Even after multiple times of deleting it all together and re-installing it. So, I am just wondering if this is the same problem as grey screen. :?:

I know you are all working hard on this, so I will stay patient. Been here to long to have a little something like this chase me off. :hug:

And those of us who always have a gray screen and can't even get into Yoworld? Today I saw that a new gem challenge has started, I already lost the entire previous event, and maybe my fellow players will eliminate me by not seeing me active in the game. I have not been able to enter the game for 3 weeks, if at least I could enter to send daily gifts, watch the videos and collect the desktop application reward, and do the gems event, I would not mind having a slow game with screen occasional gray. I send a video and screenshots, and the data of my operating system, but you have not taken me out of htlm5 nor have you resolved that I can enter the game. It seems that for me this is over and I won't be able to play anymore. Very sad after so many years.

I've been using Firefox ... grey screens are alive and well on that browser. Good to know you are looking at that issue though.
