We're back with another edition of Viking Voices!

Today, we're going to get to know Viking Tyler!






1) The basics -- What do you do at Big Viking Games and for how long have you been in this role?

Hey YoFans! I’m Tyler, and I’m a Player Support Specialist! I’ve been in this role since March 2020!

2) What is your all-time favourite item in YoWorld?

This is a tough question! Honestly, there’s too many to name. But - autumn is my favourite season, so I’d have to say my favourite item is anything from the recent Vacation in Vermont theme! I especially love the Clickable Treehouse Bedroom. I wish I had this item in real life - it looks so cozy and like a perfect place to read my favourite books!

3) What movie can you watch over and over again without ever getting tired of it?

Probably Beauty and the Beast. I loved this movie growing up and know the words to every song! I always looked up to Belle growing up because she was a book nerd like me!

4) If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

To be able to talk to animals!! I love my Kitty so much and I’ve always wanted to know what she’d say to me if we could talk.

5) What is something you’re interested in that a lot of people may not know much about?

I’ve always been a huge history nerd. I actually almost majored in History in university, and for a long time wanted to be a history professor! One of my biggest guilty pleasures to this day is watching historical documentaries!

6) How would you describe your personal fashion/style?

Hmmm, I would say that I have a comfy/cute style. I love wearing fun dresses from time-to-time, but I also love just wearing my vans, leggings, and a hoodie.

7) If there is one thing you could tell YoWorld players that you'd want them to know about you, your role, YoWorld, or Big Viking Games, what would it be?

If I could tell YoWorld players one thing, it would be that my favourite part of my job is helping you guys have the best experience of YoWorld that you possibly can. It’s extremely rewarding seeing you guys enjoy new themes, items, and features that get released in-game!

8) What song hits you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear it?

Definitely Hey Ya by Outkast, Smooth by Santana and Rob Thomas, and anything early 2000s John Mayer!

9) If you could invent one contraption, regardless of how realistic it may be, what would you create?

Hmmm.. probably a contraption that lets me learn whatever language I want in a short amount of time! There’s so many languages I want to learn, but I don’t have the time to learn them

10) Other than YoWorld, what is your favourite game to play? (Video, computer, board, etc.)

I have a 4-way tie for what my favourite game to play is!

Firstly, I absolutely love Pokemon and have since I was a little girl. There’s just something about hearing the music in-game and raising Pokemon that gives me an overwhelming feeling of happiness and nostalgia. If I’m ever having a rough day, I’ll just make some tea and play Pokemon!

I’m also a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda series, Spyro the Dragon, and League of Legends.

As you can see, I like a lot of older, more ‘retro’ games. I think I love them so much because they were some of the first games I ever played.

I love reading as well. Once I pick a book up I hate to put it down until I'm done. It drives my husband crazy. He hates reading and can't understand my love of it. When I was really young my aunt started dating the man she eventually married and he ran a book store. I loved him because he treated my oldest brother and I like we were adults and with a lot of respect even though we were so young. He didn't fluff us off and he let me go to the book store and set all day just reading books. It was like a fantasy land to me. With 6 younger brothers things were always chaos at my house so escaping to the library or Uncle Herbs bookstore was a treat.

I also love Beauty and the beast.

As to the contraption to allow you to learn languages, one of my cousins was killed in an AWACs plane crash in 1995. I built a roombox in his memory for my aunt and my uncle was secretly helping me plan it so it would include all the things my cousin was so well known for. One of the things he told me was that Steve knew so many languages fluently that no one even knew just how many he actually was proficient in and he was always studying more. The more rare it was the more interested he was in learning it. Some people just have an aptitude for languages and he was one of them. He was a genius and was honestly gifted in so many areas. My best memory of him was he was an accomplished pianist and there was one part of a song, the moonlight sonata that I absolutely loved and would always ask him to play it for me whenever we were together and there was a piano. Eventually he'd just sit and start playing it for me lol. So the roombox had a piano in it, with a doll that I commisioned that looked like Steve, playing the piano and there was the moonlight sonata sheet music on the piano. I then called a music box company to see if they had the box for that song and the president told me no and they had a minimum order of 100 in order to produce one. I said thank you but I just needed 1 and explained what I was doing. The next thing I knew I got a package in the mail with the nicest letter saying that he was so touched by what I was doing that this was the companies gift to the project. I gave my aunt the letter along with the roombox when it was finished. I had to make so many things for the room that it took about 2 years to complete.

Next up on Viking Voices is your new Community Manager, Viking Sam!



1) How has your first three weeks as a YoWorld Community Manager been? What do you hope that you will be able to bring to the role that is new and fresh?

It has been a whirlwind of emotions, so trying to properly convey the experience may be difficult: but I’ll try!
Overall, I absolutely love it. The team is incredibly supportive, friendly, and helpful, and the players have been very kind and welcoming.
For the second part of this question, I think that with my 5 years in the game industry doing Quality Assurance, as well as customer support prior to that, I hope to be able to offer a voice (alongside Viking Andrew) for the players when it comes to delivering the best YoWorld player experience possible



2) If you had to name one thing about YoWorld that you love so far, what would it be?

Always with the tough questions!!
The social aspect is heavily tied with the level of available customization.
Then again, I am absolutely ENAMOURED with the creativity I’ve seen within the community.

3) What movie can you watch over and over again without ever getting tired of it?

I bought Avengers: Endgame the first day that it became available digitally and I’ve seen it about 30 times, each time the sobbing starts earlier and earlier :haha:

4) If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Shapeshifting. I would shapeshift into a cat and nap all day on the weekends

5) What is something you’re interested in that a lot of people may not know much about?

My hyper obsessions change on a fairly regular basis, but one of the potentially lesser knowns, and one of my longest running interests, is a web series called Red Vs Blue.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog is another lesser known interest of mine featuring Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day, and Nathan Fillion. Definitely recommend checking it out!

6) How would you describe your personal fashion/style?

This is tough too because it varies. I have 3 looks:

Work From Home Chic: Sweatpants, warm fuzzy socks, and an anime/video game shirt and/or sweater
Lifting Legacy: Gym tights, tank top, a backwards hat, and converse
Out and about: Plaid/leather jacket, black leggings, flats/combat boots, beenie (I almost said toque but then my canadian would be showing)

I guess with the blue hair and tattoos, I’d fit the ‘Alternative’ style? Yes. Let’s go with that.



7) If there is one thing you could tell YoWorld players that you'd want them to know about you, your role, YoWorld, or Big Viking Games, what would it be?

We hear you, we care about you, and while we won’t be able to make absolutely everyone happy, we will promise to listen to your feedback and do everything in our power to offer the best experience possible. I see first hand how dedicated everyone at BVG is, and I can only begin to describe how inspiring it is to work alongside such an incredible team of people. On that note, we are human so we do make mistakes, and that’s okay! We will do what we can to get back to you in a timely manner so we can rectify those mistakes to the best of our abilities


8) What song hits you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear it?

Anything by My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, The Used and Panic! At the disco circa 2004. I bet you can guess my style through high school!

9) If you could invent one contraption, regardless of how unrealistic it may be, what would you create?

Something that folds laundry for me. I hate folding laundry and find myself grunting and whining every time i force myself to do it

We're back with another edition of Viking Voices! This time, we have someone that many of you have likely spoken with before. He's a member of our awesome Player Support team. It's Viking Kyle!




1) The basics -- What do you do at Big Viking Games and for how long have you been in this role?

I’m a Player Support Specialist and I’ve been working at BVG for a year and half now.

2) What is your all-time favourite item in YoWorld?

There are two Christmas tree items called “The Gifting Tree WY2019 XM2019” and “Whomping Kooky Christmas Tree WY2019 XM2019” that make me laugh every time I see them.

3) What movie can you watch over and over again without ever getting tired of it?

I don’t think such a movie exists anymore, but a few years back I could watch Inception and The Dark Knight back-to-back. Christopher Nolan movies are just amazing.

4) If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

For a really long time my answer was Teleportation. Now it’s the ability to move any part of my body throughout space. So basically Extreme Teleportation but for example, I could move my arm independently from my body, to another part of the world. Or make weapons or projectiles pass through me at will.

5) What is something you’re interested in that a lot of people may not know much about?

I probably watch a lot more anime than I lead on. Cartoons and Anime as a whole are my thing (Marvel + DC included).

6) How would you describe your personal fashion/style?

A nice mix between ‘slightly’ fashionable and comfortable. Dark colours usually, always accompanied by a Hoodie when possible.

7) If there is one thing you could tell YoWorld players that you'd want them to know about you, your role, YoWorld, or Big Viking Games, what would it be?

Patience is extremely appreciated for any player writing in or asking for assistance. Our team isn’t as big as most would assume but we do try to ensure all players are addressed as quickly as we can.

8) What song hits you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear it?

One More Time by Daft Punk will always take me back to High-school. I listened to a ton of Daft Punk and other Dance/Electronica groups back then. Still do now but Daft Punk is a classic.

9) If you could invent one contraption, regardless of how realistic it may be, what would you create?

A wireless charger. And by that I mean a small device you can plug into an outlet and as long as you’re within 10-20 feet of the outlet, any electronic device in it’s proximity will charge all by itself. No extra input required.

10) Other than YoWorld, what is your favourite game to play? (Video, computer, board, etc.)

This answer changes every month without a doubt but right now it’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Hades. In December I predict that’ll switch exclusively to Cyberpunk 2077 (woot).
