Why is the Columbus day theme still in-stores?

Is the old Zynga St. Patrick's theme still in-stores? If so, why?

What about the old Zynga Easter theme? If so, why?

And even if one or both of the latter are gone, why are any of the useful themes being removed before any of these three were? A lot of users here have confirmed to me that Zynga's old Columbus theme is still in stores. It really makes no sense. I just wanna see if I can grasp what type of logic we're seeing. It makes no sense for these themes to stay in stores when you simply retire your own.

The next few themes just better have the best damn YoCoin chairs, coin sun/moon beams, coin windows, and coin trees we've ever seen.

We all get it re: it's a company, you're here to make money, blah blah blah.

How's about this:- Post a list of the items you intend to save from the theme you're vaulting. Then at least as a player, we have the choice in whether to hoard the other items we want to keep or not.

Not asking for much really.

Thank you for getting back to us, Sarah.

What I hear you saying is that you need to find a way to quantify the interest in having items retained, and that this is the format that the rest of the team needs to inform their decision. If this is so, then..

Yes, a survey that allowed input on items to-be-vaulted would be helpful. It would provide data the team needs to evaluate player interest in retaining items to-be-vaulted in YoDepot. I imagine you would ask players their interest in having some items in a theme-to-be-vaulted retained in YoDepot, and provide an opportunity to specify the items they would like to see retained. I'd hate to be the person asked to tally the items listed at the end of the survey - it would be a time-consuming task, but I don't see any other way to provide input in the context of your survey design. Well, there is the list that Fermie provided... she provided a shortened list that is feasible to add to a survey (i.e., what is your interest in retaining chandelier chains from mf2015 - a)not much, b)some, c)tons, d)super duper holy smoked interest).

And perhaps the number of items from a given theme use in game (not a perfect measure, but an approximate) could be used to inform potential items to include in the survey --- perhaps they could choose the 10 most used, and ask players to select a top 5. I'm not sure if this would work -but might be worth a shot.

Thanks again for getting back to us.

I've often thought this would be a good idea. Especially *before* the theme is set to be vaulted, so we can know what we don't need to stock up on to cram into already overloaded inventories.

When a person gets into their creative groove, it is all about options. If you give a person a blue crayon and tell them to draw anything they want, they might get a sky or an ocean out of it or something crude and outlined depending on their skill level. If you give them a blue and a red crayon, they may be inspired to do more because there are more design options. This increase in creative options is exponential for every new color you give them it is what drives the room decorators mindset. When you give players a crayon they love and have gotten used to and then you decide to take it away, it feels like you don't understand how they play at all. It feels like you are targeting their fun for extinction. It feels like you don't want them to decorate or you want them to decorate but pay more for it. There is no rocket science to the psychology at work here.

Now we peel into another layer. There is no giving here. There is buying for coins and for yo cash. One is relatively free while the other comes out of pocket. Both have their place in Yo. Yocash items are usually centerpieces to rooms and often are the focal point of whatever is being created. Players will buy yocash stuff to decorate AROUND. So making good yocash items is very important both to inspire more rooms and drive revenue for the game. But the stuff AROUND the yocash items is to set the scene. These crayons used to set the scene have to be relatively accessible and affordable. If they become UNAVAILABLE or UNAFFORDABLE, then the entire room has to be reconfigured to make it work, or else it will be DROPPED ENTIRELY.

So here's the key to figuring out what items to KEEP when vaulting happens. Look at the last 6 months of sales for any theme you are considering. When you see players buying dozens of any item from it at once, that item is often a background item players are using. It matters for creativity purposes. You can't remove it or replace it with a yocash item, because then it becomes utterly useless because it no longer exists conveniently or at prices that make sense. These items need to go into the Yodepot. When you announce the vaulting of a theme, list these items that will be moved WITHIN the announcement. Don't wait for players to run around with their hair on fire panic buying 10M worth of stuff they can't live without. THIS MAKES A VERY FRUSTRATED AND UPSET CUSTOMER. Get ahead of the problem and be flexible about adding more if something was missed.

I tell you guys these things because it seems you don't have anyone who actually decorates using REAL MONEY working at BVG. If you guys had to make decisions on doing rooms with in store items using your own money, you'd start to understand why the vaulting process makes a decorator insane.

I'm all for cleaning up the store. I do think we have a lot of options now. But once one of those options becomes a staple used in rooms outside of its parent theme, it has become important to someone or many someones. It needs to be moved and not vaulted. I hope this makes sense.

I'm sorry if I've been excessively caustic about this. Some people I play with are more than a little upset at you guys about this one theme. They don't come in here because they hate the forums, so I get an hour of venting every night from a different player or group of players angry about this decision. So if I have to suffer, so do you.

I've been keeping away from here because quite frankly, what we say falls on deaf ears anyway, that is, of course, unless it suits BVG.

I have said over and over again, like many others, that the only reason you vault themes is to allow you to replace with more expensive, less desirable "copies" of what you have taken away.

What you say doesn't wash me with, never has and never will because at the end of the day BVG does what BVG wants and to hell with the paying customer. It's nothing but a pile of BS

"It's very true that back in the early days of YoWorld, some YoCash items may have been available for purchase with YoCoins. But what's also true is this pricing method had no real planning or strategy behind it. As YoWorld has evolved, a pricing guideline has been established that not only takes in inflation and adjusts accordingly, but also sets parameters on which items are available for YoCoins versus YoCash"
First I want to say thank you for addressing this. I really do hope you are taking in all the feedback and it is passed on and used to come up with a better system to what will be moved and when it will be moved because things should be moved over before the theme is placed on sale. We now only have just under 2 days and still no answers on what will be moved in this theme and I hope this is the last time we are left wondering. :dizzy:

Now for the bolded quote above. I did not really address this yesterday because I was annoyed and it was just not the right time. From what I gather from this you are in fact removing coin items that would usually be yocash and maybe even changing somethings up to be yocash. Yocash items are usually your main pieces for rooms in my opinion. Fountains, sofas, tubs, fridges, other special type items. Yes sometimes pending on the item/quality some of these could be coin items as well. This is how I have always viewed them and how I always will. You can make everything yocash and I will still only purchase the items I think that are worth it and do without the rest even if this limits me in decorating until I finally grow completely unhappy with the game and say well I am finally done with it all. I am going to use the sunbeams for an example here from the expiring theme. You have some that are yocash and some that are coins.I have purchased both but to the 3 or 4 yocash ones I purchased 30 or 40 coin ones. I bet the coin ones has way out sold the yocash ones. I also bet if you was to take them all away and bring out nothing but yocash ones you will never see no where near those same numbers being sold. That is a staple item yes some yocash items are staple but the coin items you will see people buying 100s at a time no one is going to do that with yocash items. Not any decorator who decorates a lot they already spend a lot and look for those bargain coin items to help make the room what they want, create a picture to put that yocash fountain they purchased in. So they can move on to the next room they want to do. I always spend on this game and know you have to make money for the game to be here. I have not spent recently because I have been a bit busy outside of yo and I also am trying to hold out for what I hope is an awesome Halloween. I will say in the start when you guys first took over and started releasing things I spent more with you than I did with zynga because you guys was more fair and showed you cared more. You say a pricing guideline has been set that takes in inflation and adjusts and sets parameters on what items are yocash or yocoins? I understand price increases on somethings over time that is understandable even if I am not always happy with it. It is reasonable with any business. Hey either they will sale or they won't right? I am not sure what your new parameters are but I know I have mine and I know what I will and won't spend yocash on. I know if I use to use 20 of this item that was 4k coins to make a room and now it is 4 yc ea I will just be an unhappy player who no longer uses that item and spends less because I am now unhappy. I am also almost positive many decorators some of which decorate a lot more than me would feel the same as me. You can't turn staple coin items into yocash items because they sale a lot and as for the coin seating I get it is usually a yocash item and it was so nice that you guys would release some here and there for coins. It made people happy and cut them a little slack. It showed you cared also about your players. I just hope I am reading into this all wrong. I hope if the sun beams do expire and you don't move them we don't see them in the next few themes come out just being yocash because for me I think that might be my final straw.

Vaulted vs Expired Themes?

Before we introduced the vault, themes were expired. This meant that once they were gone, they were gone for good. Upon introduction of the vault, any theme that is vaulted has the potential to make a full or partial reappearance at sometime in the future. This same feature is quite often seen in media these days -- your favourite movie may not be available for purchase until it is re-released from the vault for a limited time.

We've seen a lot of the vaulting, but I've yet to see any unvaulted theme... :?:

You hit the nail on the head! We have already experienced this were a theme was vaulted and a new item brought into the game that was so much smaller and it cost a lot more! It's so easy to see with REAL EYES and REALIZE, the REAL LIES! They will only do things that will benefit them, not the player's!

I can try to understand if u really need to vault this theme but u must also understand our point of view...that there are a few items which are very essential in our decorating. if you take these away, a lot of decorators including me will lose our motivation to design! i love doing landscapes and building our own stuff. i use these sun beams, scorches and ropes a lot so if these items will be gone, i will definitely get bored and eventually stop playing this game. we're not asking for u to save a lot of items but just a few important ones that we designers need! i seldom come here at the forums or ask or complain and this goes to show that im really desperate and hoping that you'll grant our request. that wouldn't be so hard to do it for us who are very dedicated to this game and most of all, spend real money to enjoy what we love doing...thats decorating. hoping for a favorable response and immediate action regarding this matter. thank you .

Please take this feedback to the team to review:

Your methods for selling and vaulting would be much less of a problem if you would start catering to the social aspect of this game. We are a bunch of people that like to collect, buy, sell, use and trade all of this stuff you are releasing or vaulting.

Give people the ability to UNDERSTAND the value of items within the community. If everyone knows that floor tile you are vaulting is all over the game and we have the ability to effectively buy and sell what you vault, it wont matter that much if you do or don't.

If you are vaulting that tile and people that hoard it, have a fair price guide AND the ability to easily sell them later...it wont matter.

If someone that needs them but doesnt have the money to buy them that week before they are vaulted, but know they are pretty common in the game and have an easy way to get them later....it wont matter.

From my perspective people are freaking out over this stuff because once something goes out of the store it is now in that black hole we have been wandering around in for years. Buyers cant connect with sellers effectively, we cant list more than 5 items in a completely corrupt AH. For pete's sake....make us a price guide already that is based on ACTUAL game stats so we can stop arguing about the price of things or the rarity of an item.

You want to vault and release willy nilly?
Give Us:

A price guide from game stats
Price caps based on game stats
Personal store interface that we can buy and sell from
Organizational tools to keep track of all this stuff

Then you will see people become more confident to drop money on hoarding before you vault and not feel like they are floating in space with empty pockets and 500 floor tiles. You will see people start to compete to have a lower price than another rather than trying to hit the ceiling of how much they can get. Cap prices so we can end this tom foolery in the AH and get people back to interacting and dealing with each other fairly.

Seriously, if you guys dont understand our needs by now, you really never will.
