Please take this feedback to the team to review:

Your methods for selling and vaulting would be much less of a problem if you would start catering to the social aspect of this game. We are a bunch of people that like to collect, buy, sell, use and trade all of this stuff you are releasing or vaulting.

Give people the ability to UNDERSTAND the value of items within the community. If everyone knows that floor tile you are vaulting is all over the game and we have the ability to effectively buy and sell what you vault, it wont matter that much if you do or don't.

If you are vaulting that tile and people that hoard it, have a fair price guide AND the ability to easily sell them later...it wont matter.

If someone that needs them but doesnt have the money to buy them that week before they are vaulted, but know they are pretty common in the game and have an easy way to get them later....it wont matter.

From my perspective people are freaking out over this stuff because once something goes out of the store it is now in that black hole we have been wandering around in for years. Buyers cant connect with sellers effectively, we cant list more than 5 items in a completely corrupt AH. For pete's sake....make us a price guide already that is based on ACTUAL game stats so we can stop arguing about the price of things or the rarity of an item.

You want to vault and release willy nilly?
Give Us:

A price guide from game stats
Price caps based on game stats
Personal store interface that we can buy and sell from
Organizational tools to keep track of all this stuff

Then you will see people become more confident to drop money on hoarding before you vault and not feel like they are floating in space with empty pockets and 500 floor tiles. You will see people start to compete to have a lower price than another rather than trying to hit the ceiling of how much they can get. Cap prices so we can end this tom foolery in the AH and get people back to interacting and dealing with each other fairly.

Seriously, if you guys dont understand our needs by now, you really never will.

I hope this is the last time I reply to this thread, but just wanted to note that in the past I was not a big hoarder on these vaulting themes. I was shocked that ER2018 was vaulted so soon. It had the best water hose I've yet seen so far. I wish I had of stocked up on those and all the other out door things needed to decorate that went with ER2 theme. Also, I was just certain that the water puddles from the YoFashion vaulting would make it to the depot, so I did not stock up on them and they are/were the absolute best puddles we had imho If I'm not mistaken all you added was three tile Aquarians from that theme. I am a former Digital Artist. I critique and observe items and if it has horrible resolution and is not crisp/sharp or optimized correctly it is very unlikely I will purchase the décor. I know that sounds off topic, but really it is not as I'm not seeing better quality décor arriving in the store, nor in your recent GE. I am not trying to belittle or be mean, but I do expect much better quality than we're getting these days. The EK2 sun overlay is okay but not stellar it will work for certain décor, but not a replacement for the beams. I expect the beams will make it to the depot as they are cash items. I'm not holding my breath though <sigh> Just a side note that when you resized the beautiful Parisian flowers a rule of thumb is not to resize more than 20 or 25 percent and make sure it is sharpened and optimization is key. I hope you do not mind me trying to help as I mean no offense honestly, I just want better décor if we have to pay more it should be done correctly. I say this in a nice way and hope you understand my perspective. I miss the flour, measuring cups, and all the really nicely designed kitchen items as well. Please do not ban me for being honest. I hope my comment does not violate TOS. I just want you to succeed and get things right and think of others who buy up these things they have no idea whether they'll be here or gone in two days. A poll would be nice and a lot fairer I think. I've really hoarded this theme and I'm not happy I'm having to do that. Please, make sure you let us know what will be going to the depot beforehand, and thank you for allowing us feedback. I hope I did not go overboard.

If just asked in a thread like this, yeah, hugely inefficient. Any kind of form, though, piece of cake.

I miss Jess and David, as they were so much better to communicate with when it came to the vaulting of Themes! They got things moved to the YoDepot in plenty of time before the items expired! I feel like it's all being ignored and brushed under the rug, as there has been absolutely no communication as to what items will be moved to the YoDepot!

Yes! Excellent point! :) :bye:

I was concerned that they might use a comment section (i.e., the one they use at the end of theme surveys) to obtain player input on what specific items they would like to see retained in the depot. This would be inefficient to score, as you state. The issue is how they might obtain a list like Fermie provided before they create their survey. How would they determine the popular items? I suggested calculating the number of theme items owned by players, and using the results to select for example, ten popular items, and let players pick from that list their top 5 specific items to be vaulted. Rod also suggested a way for them to a priori determine a list of popular items, with the goal of developing a list of items from which players could choose.

What is a survey really going to do? They don't need to do survey's to see what sells! Their accounting department can do the numbers through reports in their accounting program! They probably do this all the time anyway, which is most likely how they determine which old lack of sales items get's dumped into a deal or the Gem Event!

Its also losing 4 themes a month. Thats not change, its carnage. Its expensive and its exhausting. Its not fun. It doesnt make anyone feel happy. Its hard work and it takes the focus away from your new themes.

I couldn’t agree more, especially with all the event stuff going on.

maybe since you are vaulting so much(bvg in general, not YOU in particular) you could overhaul points and placing multiple items in a room so we are not so overwhelmed when we are forced to hoard.

Yes yes and yes again. Whoever thought up having to buy something 1 at a time for more points was a good idea? It’s incredibly annoying.

Change can be good. When change is implemented for the good of us all, I can understand. I can even understand some reasoning for themes being vaulted or even expired. I cant understand 4 themes a month and the arbitrary way things are saved.

Yes 4 themes a month is really excessive. I wonder if anyone on staff at BVG actually really plays the game and understands how decorators work. I don’t mean placing a few things in a room or dressing up. Actually plays the game. All the events and vaulting and sales has made me lose interest in what i love about the game. The decorating. There just isn’t time left in my day.

It is really a mood killer isnt it? I wanted to wait to see what was going into the depot before i clogged up my inventory anymore but I am going back to work and wont have time. I am forced to decide whether or not to overload my already struggling inventory or go without and hope for the best.

I want to say that many players that are upset by vaulting, do not even come to the forum. For that reason I think a survey is a great idea, if the purpose would be to ask players what they want to keep available. Honestly though, the players who have come and commented to the Forum, are long time, serious loyal, players. We fall in love with certain items, because we use them over and over again, and hate seeing you take them away. So please, reconsider removing the items mentioned that are so dear to us.

The items that dedicated Decorators use ( Listed by Fermit ) are the staples decorators use by the 100's for their designs. It's not even possible for these decorators to stockpile these items because they use so many.
Vaulting these items will only drive more and more players away. This in conjunction with high pricing, the jumping through hoops that players need to do to get items from Gem Events has got out of hand IMO,this and the fact some of us can't even buy yc now because Facebook disable their Facebook Giftcards and seem to have no intention of offering an alternative is not good for you as a Company. I'm actually shocked that BVG have not addressed this issue. Whoever is making these decisions is hurting the game long term.
Most players understand themes leave store, this is not the issue, the issue is the staples also leave and players are frustration and anger when this happens.
When a new theme is put into store the staple items need to go straight into YoDepot so decorators know these items won't be leaving. Players shouldn't need to fight tooth and nail when each theme leaves to have their staples kept in YoDepot. :drink:

Way too many themes are going, way too fast. I understand cleaning out the stores. The best themes with the stuff that are used the most are the ones being vaulted first. Why not get rid of all the old holiday and things like yoscars, and one day or weekend themes. Instead the ones decorators use the most are the ones being vaulted and removed. It seems you know the foundation items that will be going so even if they are on sale they can go to yodepot at the beginning and then move the extras asked for by decorators and granted to yodepot when the theme is vaulted. There'd be a lot less anger by yofans. Having to do this every two weeks when many need to take time to build up their coins again is hard on everyone, you have the events taking up a ton of our in game time which means it's hard to find time to also go through the stores to find the stuff we want to hoard. As others have said instead of being fun the game has turned in to endless chores to do. It takes away from time we need to decorate. The fun of the game. We need a break between the vaulting and the endless events to build up coins, yc and get back to decorating and using some of the stuff we've had to hoard. I know personally my inventory has gotten so out of control I'm not sure I'll ever be able to fix it again. I haven't had the time. On top of all of that the endless icons on the right daily that need closing out. Not just 1 click but some of them take numerous clicks before they close out. Not everyone has endless money to buy non stop yc, not everyone has the whole day to sit in the game. I do support the game. I have played it off and on since sometime early in 2009. I just feel like things need to slow down a bit so those of us that like to socialize, decorate, buy and sell have time to do all of that. Instead of spending all of our in game time doing chores.

  • You want a lot of money hence why you leave it until the day before a theme expires before you move anything
  • The process you use to determine wether or not items are moved is actually you working out if you'll be making a more expensive alternative in the future, if you're not, the item may be moved

Nothing inspires me with this company! I liked the communication we had with Jess and David on these issues and I wish they were still here! The lack of communication now, by not letting us know what is being moved is ridiculous and I feel like it's just a head game with the player's!

In the beginning it was said that you would not Valt items as we did not want it now you are valting so many items good items we use all the time :( the new items created are not always the best sizing has been a big problem and color matching. floors tiles still do not match in scale or some walls this has never been addressed . taking away these items makes it difficult for us to decorated and if taken away then may as well take the houses away to as one can not decorate them.
Also seems you are taking away all the coin items like good chairs and for some of us 4 yocash or 5 is just way too much to pay for a chair around a table . prices have gone real high and makes it more difficult to decorate fully so by taking away these themes is creating a huge problem and I imagine it will become difficult for most to decorate at all to have a complete room. so you will lose players as is not point having an incomplete room . it saddens me that it has come to this I know you need to make money as you are a company but it is also wise to think about all players as not all of your players have a lot of money to buy your expensive items . Also not all of your items are the best so many often look to older theme to complete a room mix and match because of this. you told me it had to do with items working but that is not true as items leaving work just fine , it just all about money sadly to say.

Viking Sarah wrote:Finally, another factor in our decision to vault themes was the glaring fact that coming up with new and exciting items for YoFans, especially when there are already so many items in store, can be a challenge. We strive to make each individual theme full and concise, and let's face it, there are only so many new ways we can plan and design a tree, or bench, or mailbox. Therefore, in vaulting older themes, this allows for our theme planners and artists to put a new spin on these much-needed theme items, without having too many of the same items in store. :

With this said, I am going to hold BVG to a brand new standard of excellence all the way around--more affordable pricing, more coin items (especially chairs), no layering issues, spot on sizing each and every time for all items, and like Sarah said themes that will be "full and concise." Of course, that means no glitches for any releases or any items, since you have theme planners and artists making YW better for us, so surely they are double checking everything.

So BVG, I'm looking forward to seeing what wonderful and more affordable items you will be bringing us to replace all of the beloved items you have been taking away from us. Please don't let us down, as we are counting on you.
