Literally every single player on this game buys items for low and resells for higher when they need to earn coins to buy items. I used to go to auction events when I had more time in my life to kill and would buy items worth millions for only a few hundred k and resell them for higher. It’s a fair and ethical way to earn coins. People that care about the game earn their coins ethically by buying low and selling for higher rather than buying coins from other players. Furthermore, like I said above in an earlier post, coin sellers earn their coins by scamming and hacking. Not buying items and reselling to earn a profit to enhance their game-playing.

Putting players that take part in the ‘buy and sell’ aspect of the game on the same pedestal as players who exploit the game and take part in criminal activity to earn real life cash is so unfair.

Please don’t twist Rod’s words and force your own agenda into it.

Not quite right. The story's too long, but the short version is I bought 5 themes from a certain player totalling over 750m. After the last trade she said, "Gee Erwyle, you must be kinda low on coins by now. Let me know if you need to buy some. I take paypal." I was a little diminished, but even still I wouldn't buy from her or anyone. She has been banned, but this is not unusual. So, it's not just hacking is what I'm saying...

Would a coin seller who doesn’t care about the game put in that much time and work into collecting hundreds of millions of coins in order to spend it on rare furniture to then sell it to someone else? The likely possibility to me is that they were an older player who no longer plays and wants to squeeze out as much as they can from this game before leaving. So they begin selling everything they own worth anything to then sell the coins for real life profit. That or this player just hacked someone else and stole those items from them.

That's possible too. She was an old player, but she was part of an organized family. How she got her stuff, I don't know. I assumed legitimately, but after that last comment she made, I may have been party to something I regret. Anyhoo, I just wanted to point out the irony of taking my coins, then trying to sell them back to me. Wow that's chutzpah.

This is how I make coins too. I bought a hat this morning worth millions for under 350k. Was that fair to the seller? Probably not, but it's not up to me to educate.

Coin sellers I met years ago earned their coins from "coin farms" where they had all their relatives and neighbors playing. At one time, this game supported families and neighborhoods.

I agree. Not everyone can or wants to decorate. A lot of players play only for buying and selling. I’ve definitely sold items for less than half the going price before when I didn’t know how much it was worth. I don’t blame the seller though. I only blame myself for not knowing prices. It’s unfair to lump people who buy and sell with players who scam, hack, and exploit the game so that they can then sell their profits for real life cash. Most players who buy and sell put a lot of time and effort into building their wealth and they wouldn’t lose it all and risk getting banned over selling coins.

Agree! I have known many who sold all their "accounts" and left the game. Sometimes it took them months to gather it all up and have sales and then sell the coins.

This is how I have always played, and will continue to play. It's the fun part of the game for me. It's not the same.

This is how I make coins too. I bought a hat this morning worth millions for under 350k. Was that fair to the seller? Probably not, but it's not up to me to educate.

Yep, buy low sell high! Nothing wrong with that. You look amazing! Love your outfit.

I'm not condoning selling coins or whatever for real money, but I know a few people that genuinely buy coins/cash through Yoworld, and resell it for more to individuals.

Then if I understand what you're saying correctly, your friends are criminals and you seem to be ok with that.

"Criminal" is a strong word. If people find pleasure in doing that, but support the game in the process, why would you stop yoworld supporters? You should see how unregulated Ebay is with Yoworld Listings. It's quite interesting what people sell on there, and when you have "40+ sold" of the same thing, that tells you something.

It’s illegal to make money off of someone else’s property. If I pay $20 for a DVD, I don’t have any right to make copies of that DVD and sell them to people. It doesn’t matter if I initially supported the DVD company and movie studio by paying $20 for the DVD because I am then going on to profit from their creation. Which I have no right to do. I made a post earlier on this thread all about it. It doesn’t matter if these people have paid into the game at some point. The fact of the matter is most players who sell coins don’t pay into the game. They earn their millions by price-jacking, scamming, or hacking. When you hear stories about players going on hacking sprees and stealing hundreds of millions of coins don’t you wonder why they do this? They do it to support their coin selling “business”.

Coin selling is profiting off of someone else’s property. It’s theft and it’s wrong.

Capitalism is what I thought it was.
